Windows two mouses
In reply to Erica4's post on August 29, Hopefully no more problems. Okay, I have downloaded the drivers and while I stay logged in, the second mouse works fine. Since I do shut down the computer in the evenings and do a cold restart the next day, the second mouse no longer works.
Do I have to re-download the driver every time I start the computer? In reply to Erica4's post on August 30, RichardMc Michael. In reply to Erdeslawe's post on August 31, I have been having the same issues with my mouse devices since the upgrade to windows My RAT7 mouse worked fine, then after update the buttons work but the laser mouse aspect will not, no matter upgraded drivers.
One is a microsoft mouse, other is Rat7. This happens also on my laptop I can only use one mouse at a time. This worked for now. I am sure once I restart my computer it will stop working again. This site in other languages x. If you have two mice already connected, their cursors will each turn a different color and you can start moving them independently. They are not truly independent because if one user is pressing a mouse button, the other user cannot press a button until the first user has finished, and the cursor turns into a cross.
Just press Stop Session to revert back to a single mouse cursor. TeamPlayer4 has no settings to configure and both the options window and the about icon will simply send you to non existent web pages. Download TeamPlayer4 Lite. This older beta version of TeamPlayer dates way back to but we tried it in the latest Windows 10 bit and it still works. During launch, bit users will be shown a bit beta warning which can be ignored. On screen there will be up to three mouse cursors, each with its own color.
The white cursor with a colored square is active and can be used for left or right click actions. The other cursors can be moved freely and you simply left click to take control and make that mouse active.
TeamPlayer 2 works reasonably well but we did encounter a few minor issues, which might be expected of a program this old. Download TeamPlayer 2. MouseMux is by a former lead engineer at TeamPlayer. Currently, MouseMux is still in beta and betas are free to use.
However, we are unsure if the project is still ongoing as there has been no activity since May Native is the Windows default of a single cursor. Switched input mode lets you have several cursors moving independently on screen but only one at a time has access to click actions like TeamPlayer.
After installation, the small main window will open and you only really need to select the mode to use. While in Switched mode, the on screen cursors can be moved around as you wish and in Windows 10 any window under each cursor can use scrolling with the mouse wheel. The user icon will be highlighted orange in the program window for which user has control. The mouse icon will also light up when a user moves the mouse.
MouseMux does have a few options to configure each mouse, such as movement speed, right button as primary and double click speed. Download MouseMux. EitherMouse is created in the AutoHotKey scripting language and is primarily designed to have different settings for each mouse when you have more than one connected. The program is freeware and has portable and installer versions available for download. Do note the installer version can produce false positives in antivirus scanners and software which the developer is aware of.
Operate mouse and cursor one, then stop and operate mouse and cursor two. Trying to move both at once will cause issues. Once the program is installed or the portable executable is launched, all you have to do is click the icon in the system tray to open the settings. Whichever mouse is being used, the options window will show the individual settings for that mouse.
A few more options are available from the menu when you click the spanner icon at the top of the window including Exit. If you are someone that would like one mouse on the primary monitor and another on the secondary monitor to reduce physical movement, EitherMouse could be quite useful.
Download EitherMouse. Pluralinput is still in beta and has not had any updates since If it ever comes out of beta the program will be shareware.
Join forces on editing documents, or in the control room so each operator can see where the others are. One can re-configure mouse settings for just one user, change the interaction mode and multi monitor per DPI setups are also supported.

Finally, Multiplex mode removes all the limitations of Switched input. In this mode, multiple users can work in different apps at the same time with few exceptions. Once you click on a program, your profile becomes the "owner" of that app.
The developers note that this mode is experimental, so you may experience issues. The app includes a manual that explains all the options in-depth, which is worth looking at to understand the intricacies of how it handles multiple inputs. Overall, MouseMux is a handy tool for using multiple mice at the same time, and it's free for personal use while in beta. There aren't any other tools like it available now that we'd recommend. Download: MouseMux Free. Another way to effectively use two mice or keyboards at once is creating your own solution with TeamViewer or another remote control tool.
TeamViewer is an easy tool for connecting to and controlling a remote computer. Since you're using a second set of inputs on the same machine, it can also effectively add a second mouse to your computer in a pinch. Download and install TeamViewer on both your computer and another machine that will serve as the extra mouse.
Once set up, connect the second machine to the host using the ID number and passcode from the main computer. After this, you'll have two cursors: one from your computer, and one that the remote computer can use to control yours. While this won't let you perform independent functions like MouseMux, it works for letting two people control cursors on the same screen. For example, this is useful for reviewing documents, as both parties can select objects to show the other. But since the remote machine moves the host's mouse with their cursor, it's not a true dual-cursor setup.
Depending on your connection speed, the remote mouse might suffer from some lag. But if you don't need exact precision from the second mouse, you can try this method to attach an extra mouse to your laptop and use it as a secondary pointer on your desktop. It's not the most elegant, but it works. Download: TeamViewer Free.
