Sony if you are monitoring this thread please try to change your mind for customer satisfaction. If you have a way to flash the motherboard other than a USB update please let us know. I have just spent the last hour on chat with a tech, diligently followed every step.

Eventually said it would need to go to a service center because out of warranty. UBP-UX80 model. He said they have no reported issues liek this. I forwarded this post to him and he said that there were no reported issues. Need help logging in?

I've tried with USB and internet no success how do I update? I have the same problem with my bdp-S I have tried a network install many times and also two different versions of the firmware from USB given that it has been an issue for months.

I have an engineering background and there seems to be a glitch in the device that won't allow it to install. My device also won't connect to itnernet appliations due to the older firmware which is very frustrating. The device was fully functional until it was locked out of the internet due to the old firmware version.
