While the Directors Cut is backwards compatible you can only get it on disc. If you somehow downloaded the directors cut without a disc then that will be a glitch. It wont work though because there is no digital license available for it. To play it you will find a disc copy.

I own the game, its backwards compatible and it works on my I have tried contacting support about it and they were absolutely useless. Getting them to fix it is like getting blood out of a stone. I did mot mean the director cut i have the digital version of the full base game and all the dlc and it does not work on my Xbox Series X.

As you can see, it appears as 2 different games. But when I want to launch the director's cut edition : I can't launch the director's cut edition even if I own it.
